I’m inspired to write this post because many people are really complicating their skin care routine when in reality, simple is best.
While it’s true that some anti-aging and wrinkle-reducing products can truly help us to all have a younger and healthier-looking skin, first you need to get the basics right, otherwise you may be wasting those helpful and often expensive serums and creams.
OK, let’s get down to essentials so that when you apply those miracle creams, such as Cardea Luxe™ Radiance Eye Renewal Therapy, you will know that you’ve set the scene to be able to receive all the amazing benefits.
A simple skin care routine contains just three essential products (1) cleanser (2) toner and (3) moisturizer and these three are the basics that are a must if you want your skin to look as healthy and radiant as possible so that you can put your best face forward.
Also, depending on your age and the condition of your skin, you might want to add an exfoliant once or twice a week to help shed dead skin cells.
It’s not difficult to become mesmerized by the astonishing array of so-called miracle skin products that crowd the cosmetics shelves everywhere you look and it can often be tempting to invest in various masks, peels, night creams, day creams, wrinkle-reducing creams, serums and more and be distracted from the essentials.
If this sounds like you, and your bathroom cabinet is overflowing with a vast array of facial products, it’s time to scale down your skincare routine and instead focus on the basics your skin really needs.
Basic #1 = Cleanser
Always choose a cleanser that doesn’t dry out your skin and the easiest way to know whether your cleanser is too harsh or drying is to take notice after you wash your face and if your skin feels tight and dry after washing, this means that your cleanser is too strong and if you continue to dry out your face by using a cleanser that is too harsh for you, everything you do afterward will have little positive effect.
Basic #2 = Toner
You always want to apply a toner after washing because no matter how thoroughly you may think you are rinsing, there will always be some residue of the cleansing product that remains on your face.
As well, you may not have considered that salts, chlorine or other minerals from the tap water you are rinsing with will also remain on your face.
Also, following your cleanser with a toner is similar to priming the wall before you apply the expensive paint and will set your skin up to more effectively receive your moisturizer in a pure form without the interaction of other residues.
Basic #3 = Moisturizer
Now that you have a clean and toned face, it’s time to apply an effective moisturizer, so that you can go about you day without worrying about the drying effects of the environment you may be exposed to.
Obviously, during the day you will want to add a sunscreen to your moisturizing routine of at least SPF 30.
At nighttime, you can dispense with the sunscreen and instead focus solely on applying a moisturizer that will help repair daily damage and provide superior hydration, such as Cardea Luxe™ Radiance Eye Renewal Therapy, that is also a wonderful all over moisturizer, so you can awaken looking fresh and radiant.
Exfoliate
While our skin naturally exfoliates and renews itself about every 25 days, once we reach the age of 30, like many processes in our body, this natural exfoliation process begins to slow down, which can lead to uneven skin tone and a duller complexion.
Therefore, when you want to give your face that little extra help, to reveal younger skin and retain a radiant glow at all ages, using a mild facial scrub once or twice a week can be an important key to maintaining a smooth and bright complexion no matter what the season.
You will want to find an exfoliant that is not too harsh or damaging to your skin. Some products contain sharp and rough granules that can damage your skin, therefore, in order to avoid damage, be sure to choose a product containing smooth, rounded beads, instead.
As well, because your skin repairs and renews itself while you’re sleeping, choose to exfoliate in the morning and be careful to only scrub lightly because using too much pressure can do more harm than good. Also, on those mornings when you choose to exfoliate, you can skip the cleanser in lieu of your scrub.
When you stick to a simply effective skincare routine that includes the use of Cardea Luxe™, you will be sure to put your best face forward every day.
Here’s to bringing out your inner beauty!
Sincerely yours,
